OXFORD GBCombining the skills of GB Group Holdings and Oxford Hotel Projects to provide quality hotel developments, Oxford GB targets the underdeveloped upper-three star mid-market select service sector where there remains substantial demand. Oxford GB’s first completed project was the 157 bedroom Hilton Garden Inn at Butterfield Business Park in Luton, which opened to the public in August 2008. Planning Permission has recently been secured Oxford GB’s next hotel development at Portland Crescent, Leeds. Located in the heart of the City, this 244 bedroom flagship hotel lies sandwiched between Millennium Square, Leeds Metropolitan University and the recently announced £80m Concert Arena. Programmed to open early 2012, the hotel is perfectly timed to take advantage of business from the new Arena. Focusing on the business market Oxford GB’s hotels provide the full range of services required by this demanding market and each hotel will typically contain at least 150 bedrooms, meeting rooms, bar and restaurant and a fitness suite. The two companies joined forces in March 2006 to develop up to 15 internationally branded mid-market hotels, to be located in good urban and business park locations in the UK.
The Board of Oxford GB consists of Simon Wood and Simon Milan of Oxford Hotel Projects together with Mike Lethaby and Martin Smout of GB Group Holdings. Simon Wood has taken the role of Chairman. The Oxford GB team is supported by the Development, Project Management and Cost Planning skills of GB Development Solutions, with Brandon Riley acting as Project Manager on behalf of the Joint Venture. "The team worked diligently and empathetically to provide an attractive and high quality environment, one which has been very positively received by both hotel customers and Hilton management. I look forward to having the opportunity to work with the same management team on future projects as the brand evolves and to be able to further develop the excellent relationship enjoyed during this first Hilton Garden Inn project."
